  1. Thanks Simran. Hope you can get the invitation soon.
  2. I would suppose DIBP will send out mails of invitation for all applicants. When it comes to invitation emails though, some city councils do it while others don't. It all seems to depend on different city council, from what I can see.
  3. Thanks Catalyst2012!! I have just updated my timeline.
  4. Hey guys I have just received the invitation email from the Boroondara City Council. So excited!!! Although it may take another few days for the snail mail invitation letter from DIBP to arrive. App Date: 06 Jul 2016 Test invitation email: 28 Jul 2016 Test date: 28 Jul 2016 Test centre: Melbourne (Council: City of Boroondara) Approval date: 28 Jul 2016 Approval letter received date: 03 Aug 2016 (mail) Ceremony invitation email received: 08 Aug 2016 (from city council not DIBP) Ceremony date: 06 Sep 2016 (regular)
  5. Thanks Chandnihorvath!! I have actually just received the invitation email from the city council and I will update my timeline. Hope you can get allocated to a ceremony soon.
  6. Just an update of my timeline App Date: 06 Jul 2016 Test invitation email: 28 Jul 2016 Test date: 28 Jul 2016 Test centre: Melbourne (Council: City of Boroondara) Approval date: 28 Jul 2016 Approval letter received date: 03 Aug 2016 Called DIBP this morning and was told that the tentative date of my ceremony is 06 Sep 2016, but he also said there's nothing more anybody can do or he can tell. The letter has not been sent, no concrete dates, no guarantee the ceremony will even take place... He asked me to just keep checking my mail box (like we have not been doing that already) and hopefully I can receive a letter before the ceremony date...
  7. Nobody knows... It now seems totally up to the CO, very random and discretionary.
  8. Just wondering, did anyone from any city ever receive emails from DIBP regarding application approval or ceremony invitation? Do they send these two by snail mail only? I selected electronic communication when applying, but I guess it maybe only applies to the interview and test appointment?...
  9. Now it all makes sense to me - why my CO did not ask for this. Probably because I have never changed the way I sign. My signatures on my passport (be 7 years old as it may) , driver licence and also the identity declaration form 1195 are all the same. As least I think most people can tell they are very similar.
  10. Thanks Catalyst2012, this is very helpful information. Hope you can get your ceremony invitation letter soon.
  11. Thanks Chandnihorvath! This is very reassuring. It's nice to see somebody else has the same concern, which just warms my heart, haha. I was thinking about going back too but not sure whether they would let me back in or see the CO again since technically my appointment was over. So it's admirable that you just went back anyway;) Did you receive the approval letter by email or mail?
  12. Hi guys, My timeline here. Just a question. Has anyone been asked to have their signature collected on-site at the interview in Melbourne or any other test centre at all? I'm asking this because it says in the test invitation email that personal identifiers such as "your photo and signature" will be collected during the interview. My photo was taken indeed, but not signature. I just realised this and hopelessly am getting a bit worried that maybe the case officer simply forgot about it and later would request me to go back to do it . After all, she did ask me the same question twice in a few minutes and requested me to remove my glasses for the photo after I had apparently done so... App Date: 06 Jul 2016 Test invitation email: 28 Jul 2016 Test date: 28 Jul 2016 Test centre: Melbourne (Council: City of Boroondara) You can actually change the date of your citizenship test online using the button provided in the invitation email, which is very convenient. But not sure whether this works for any other test centres besides Melbourne.
